My name is Nate Fish. I’m the CEO of Israel Baseball Americas and manager of the Israel national team. I’ve been with Israel Baseball for twenty years as a player, coach, and executive.
I launched King of Jewish Baseball in 2012, the first time Team Israel was invited to qualify for the World Baseball Classic. It was mostly a joke back then. I was just the bullpen catcher.
Since 2012, we’ve been to three WBCs, played in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and won a silver medal at the European Championships. We’ve gone from being ranked 47th in the world to 19th. And I’ve played or coached in twenty countries on five continents with stops coaching in the Cape, working for the Dodgers, and managing the Savanna Bananas.
It’s not a joke anymore, but it’s still fun.
King of Jewish Baseball is my attempt to bring fans inside Israel Baseball from the perspective of a fantastical self-righteous idiot super-hero alter-ego. How else could I explain such a bizarre journey?
Enjoy.
